Dumbarnie and Duke's Course lead the charity effort
The inaugural Doddie Drive Cup, a two-day event, promises a weekend of quality golf and warm hospitality while fundraising for the foundation, set up by the former Scotland rugby star to raise cash for research into motor neurone disease.
Weir, 50, revealed he was suffering with the condition in 2017 and, since then, has dedicated his life to helping others and raising money for research.

The tournament requires a team of two to enter, one female and one male, so, if you are looking to spend some time playing golf with a friend, relative or perhaps a colleague, it might be for you.
It’s been organised by MTX Golf, and it will also host the Fifer Cup in September, with founder Nicole Scott-McKie saying she hopes the event will be well supported locally and will prove memorable.
“We are delighted to launch our second tournament for 2021, in addition to our women-only event taking place in September,” she said.

"We already have four further tournaments planned for 2022, all of which have a charity element.
"We hope that, through our tournaments, we will raise significant funds to support the vital work of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, both for medical research, as well as supporting those affected by the cruel disease.
“One of the founding principles of MTX Golf is to encourage more women to play golf, and I hope by making this event a 50:50 female-male split, that ensures women will be well represented.
