New Costa coffee shop to open in Fife town

A new Costa coffee shop is coming to a Fife retail park.

London & Scottish Property Investment Management announced that it has concluded a pre-let agreement with Costa for a unit at Cupar’s South Road retail park.

Construction on the site is scheduled to commence in January 2021.

The 47,800-square-foot development has already been pre-let to anchor tenant B&M, which has taken 23,000 sq ft plus 7500 sq ft for a garden centre. In addition, Burger King has taken 1800 sq ft and Indigo Sun 1120sq ft.

A further four units are available for rent at sizes between 1000 and 5500 sq ft.

The retail park, which will have 159 car parking spaces and is within walking distance of the town centre, is adjacent to a Tesco and an Aldi to the south and a Lidl to the north. It is hoped the retail park will draw additional shoppers to the town.

Andy Richardson, group development director at London & Scottish, said: “Having worked with Fife Council to regenerate this derelict site to meet modern occupier demands, we are delighted to have agreed a pre-let with such a well-loved brand as Costa.

“This new outlet, with its good parking and proximity to both the high street and other supermarkets will make Cupar an even stronger retail destination.

“We look forward to adding Cupar to our series of successful retail developments. In addition to securing planning consent for developments in Barrhead and Crieff, we have completed retail parks at Cowdenbeath, Aviemore, Cumbernauld and Paisley. We welcome approaches from landowners who wish to undertake similar schemes and require a well-funded partner.”
